From Krabi International Airport, most visitors take a taxi, a hotel transfer or a shared shuttle to Ao Nang or Krabi town. Book your transfer with your hotel if you land late. For Railay, go to Ao Nang or Krabi town and continue by long-tail boat, because Railay has no road access from the mainland.
Can you take the bus from Bangkok to Krabi?
Yes. Long-distance buses to southern Thailand leave from Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal, and the journey to Krabi is usually made overnight. We could not reach the booking website of the Transport Company (Bor Kor Sor), Thailand's government bus operator, when we checked on September 26, 2026, so we cannot quote current departure times or fares. Buy tickets at the terminal or through the operator, and avoid unlicensed agents selling cheap through-tickets.
Is there a train from Bangkok to Krabi?
No train runs all the way to Krabi, which is not on Thailand's railway network. The rail option is a train from Bangkok to Surat Thani on the State Railway of Thailand's southern line, then a bus or van to Krabi.
