How do you get from Bangkok airport to Hua Hin? From Suvarnabhumi Airport, the simplest way is the direct Roong Reuang Coach (RRC) bus, which leaves from the airport's first floor and runs to Hua Hin bus terminal in about four hours, depending on traffic. The alternatives are a private car or taxi, which follows the same road, or a train from Bangkok's central station, which means first crossing the city.
Hua Hin is a beach town in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, about 199 kilometers south-southwest of Bangkok by road, so every option is a half-day journey. Here is how each one works, and which suits which traveler.
Option 1: the direct bus from Suvarnabhumi
Roong Reuang Coach, which also sells tickets under the Bell Travel Service name, runs a scheduled coach from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Hua Hin bus terminal several times a day, from early morning to early evening. It is the only public transport that takes you from the arrivals area to Hua Hin without a change.
- Where to board: the RRC pickup point is on the first floor of the passenger terminal, near gate 8, close to the arrivals area.
- Stops: the coach calls at Cha-am, outside the Bangkok Bank branch on Phetkasem Road, before ending at Hua Hin bus terminal on Phetkasem Road, near Hua Hin Airport.
- Time: about four hours, according to the operator, longer in heavy traffic.
- Booking: tickets are sold per seat through the operator's website. RRC asks passengers to be at the boarding point at least 15 minutes before departure.

Option 2: a taxi or private transfer
A car is the most flexible choice, especially for families, groups or anyone with a lot of luggage. It follows the same highway south as the bus, so allow roughly the same time, three to four hours or more depending on traffic out of Bangkok.
- Private transfers: several companies, including RRC, offer pre-booked private cars to your hotel. Agree the total price, including tolls, before you set off.
- Metered taxis: the public taxi stand at Suvarnabhumi serves the Bangkok area; for a long out-of-town trip, confirm a fixed price with the driver before loading your bags.

Option 3: the train
Hua Hin is on Thailand's Southern Line, and its station is one of the town's sights: the old red-and-cream wooden station building and its royal waiting pavilion have been preserved beside the elevated station that opened in December 2023. The trip suits travelers who are spending time in Bangkok first, rather than those heading straight from a flight.
Getting to the train
Since January 2023, long-distance trains have used Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal in the Chatuchak district, rather than the old Hua Lamphong station, although some ordinary trains still run to Hua Lamphong. Krung Thep Aphiwat connects underground to Bang Sue station on the MRT Blue Line and is also the terminus of the SRT Red Line commuter trains.

Train times and fares change, so check the current timetable with the State Railway of Thailand before you plan around a particular departure, and book ahead for weekends and holidays.
Which option should you choose?
- Landing at Suvarnabhumi in the daytime, traveling light: the RRC coach is the easiest and cheapest direct route.
- Families, groups or late arrivals: a pre-booked private car saves waiting and delivers you to your hotel.
- Landing at Don Mueang, or spending a few days in Bangkok first: the train is worth considering, and Hua Hin station is about 850 meters from the beach.
