How to get from Pattaya to Bangkok? For most travelers the answer is an air-conditioned coach from the Pattaya bus terminal on North Pattaya Road. Roong Reuang Coach runs frequent services to Bangkok's Ekkamai bus terminal, next to BTS Ekkamai, and to Mo Chit 2 in the north of the city, plus a direct airport coach to Suvarnabhumi. The operator puts the trip at about two hours, depending on traffic. A taxi or private car is faster door to door and handy with luggage, but costs considerably more.
By coach: the simplest option
Pattaya to Ekkamai (Eastern Bus Terminal)
This is the route most visitors want. The Ekkamai terminal is on Sukhumvit Road beside BTS Ekkamai, so you can step off the coach and onto the Skytrain toward Asok, Siam or beyond, avoiding the worst of the city traffic on the last leg. Roong Reuang Coach's timetable lists departures from Pattaya roughly every hour through the day, with an early-morning and a late-evening service; exact times and fares are in the questions below.
Pattaya to Mo Chit 2 (Bangkok Bus Terminal, Chatuchak)
Coaches to Mo Chit 2 run via the motorway. The terminal is on Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road, and the operator notes it is near BTS Mo Chit and MRT Chatuchak Park. It suits travelers staying in the north of the city, around Ari or Chatuchak, or connecting to buses for northern Thailand. Mo Chit 2 is also near Chatuchak Weekend Market.
Pattaya to Bang Na
Roong Reuang Coach also serves a stop on Bang Na-Trat Road, near the expressway, which suits people staying in the southeast of Bangkok. The company says tickets for this stop are sold only at the counter.
Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi Airport
If you are flying out, skip the city: Roong Reuang Coach runs directly from Pattaya bus terminal to Suvarnabhumi Airport, with about two hours of travel time and several departures a day. At the airport, the coach stops on Level 1 near Gate 8. Allow extra time for traffic, and remember that Suvarnabhumi is in Samut Prakan province, outside Bangkok proper. Buying tickets
You can book Roong Reuang Coach tickets on its website or buy them at the terminal counter. The operator asks passengers to arrive at least 15 minutes before departure. For its airport service, Airports of Thailand's summary of the company's terms says bookings must match the passenger's passport or ID name, there are no refunds, changes cost a fee if made at least two days ahead, and each passenger may bring one checked bag of up to 20 kg plus a personal bag.

All four routes take about two hours by the operator's estimate, so the right choice depends on where you are staying rather than on speed.
By taxi or private car
A taxi, ride-hailing car or pre-booked transfer takes you door to door, which matters with children, heavy bags or a hotel far from a BTS station. Agree the total price before you set off, including whether expressway and motorway tolls are included; in Thailand the passenger normally pays tolls on top of a fare. By train
Pattaya has a station on the State Railway of Thailand's Eastern Line, but we could not confirm a current Pattaya to Bangkok timetable from the railway's own website when we checked. If rail appeals, confirm services directly with the State Railway of Thailand before you plan around it; for most visitors the coach is simpler.
Once you arrive in Bangkok
