For a soap to give as a gift rather than use in the shower, the Thai-product halls and markets, such as SOOKSIAM at ICONSIAM and the Chatuchak Weekend Market, are better places to browse.

What rice milk soap is
Rice milk soap is simply soap made with rice milk or rice extract, sold in Thailand as an everyday bar and as a souvenir. The rice content, the other ingredients and the scent vary a great deal from one brand to the next, so treat "rice milk" as a description of the product rather than a standard. Read the ingredient list on the pack, especially if you have sensitive skin, and be wary of big promises on the label; soap is a cleanser, not a treatment.
Supermarkets: the easy option
On September 26, 2026, a search of Tops Online for rice milk soap returned four bar soaps:
- Raben Rice Milk Soap, 130 grams
- Ingon Rice Milk Bar Soap, 160 grams
- D Diva Rice Milk Herbal Soap, 160 grams
- Protex Bar Soap Thai Therapy Rice Milk, 180 grams
These are ordinary bathroom bars at supermarket prices (the listed prices are in the FAQ below), which makes them good value if you want several to take home. Tops has branches across the city, including Tops Food Hall on the ground floor of Central Chidlom on Phloen Chit Road, near BTS Chit Lom. Stock differs from store to store, so if you are after one particular brand, check the store's soap shelf or the online listing before you make a special trip.
Other Bangkok supermarkets and pharmacies also sell Thai bar soaps, but we could not check their current rice milk ranges online, so treat them as places to look rather than a sure thing.
Malls and markets: soaps as gifts
If you want something more decorative, such as a handmade bar, a gift box or a set of soaps with Thai herbs, browse the places that specialize in Thai products:
- SOOKSIAM at ICONSIAM. The indoor Thai market hall on the G floor of ICONSIAM, on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya, gathers stalls of Thai food and local products under one roof, including herbal and spa goods. It is an easy stop on a river day.
- The Chatuchak Weekend Market. The Chatuchak Weekend Market, with thousands of stalls, is the city's big browsing market for home goods, crafts and gifts. It opens at weekends, so plan it for a Saturday or Sunday and go early before the heat.
At market stalls, prices and product details are up to each vendor. Ask what the soap is made with, and check that it is sealed or wrapped if you are packing it.
Getting rice milk soap home
Bar soap is a solid, so it does not fall under the liquid limits for cabin baggage in the way that shower gel does. Several bars are heavy, though, so pack them in checked luggage if you are buying for friends and family, and keep them in a bag in case the wrapping tears.
