Let's Relax Onsen and Spa Ratchadamri is the Thai day-spa chain's Japanese-style bathhouse, on the 10th floor of Grande Centre Point Prestige Bangkok on Ratchadamri Road. Its interiors take their cue from the old Higashiyama district of Kyoto, in natural materials and traditional decor, and it pairs a Japanese onsen with the chain's full menu of Thai massage and spa treatments under one roof.

It suits travelers recovering from a long flight or a day on foot around the Ratchaprasong shopping district, and anyone curious about Japanese bathing without leaving Bangkok. It is open late every night, and it is a walk of around 400 to 450 meters from either BTS Chit Lom or BTS Ratchadamri, so it is easy to fit in after dinner.

The onsen

The baths are filled with hot spring powder imported from Gero, Japan, and kept at controlled temperatures. Inside the bathing areas there are a sauna and a steam room; outside them, cool-down rooms, relaxation rooms and hot stone rooms. The onsen follows Japanese custom: men and women bathe in separate areas, bathing is done without swimwear, and guests who would rather keep undergarments on can ask at the Towel Room. There are no private baths. The dressing rooms supply hair dryers, combs and cotton pads at no charge.

Treatments

The spa menu runs from foot reflexology and traditional Thai massage, with or without a hot herbal compress, to four-hands Thai massage by two therapists, aromatherapy and warm oil massage, hot stone massage, body scrubs and wraps, and facials with Dr. Spiller skincare. Packages of one and a half to three and a half hours combine several of these. The spa provides loose clothing for Thai massage, and it offers professional, therapeutic treatments only.

Before you book

Guests with high blood pressure or a chronic condition such as heart disease need written permission from a physician before a treatment, and the spa does not treat pregnant guests. Some treatments have age limits for younger guests, and service charge is included in the prices.
