Le Du
About
Le Du is chef Thitid 'Ton' Tassanakajohn's modern Thai restaurant on Soi Silom 7, and its name sets the agenda: it comes from the Thai word for season, and the menus are built around produce from Thai farms and fisheries at their best. It holds one MICHELIN star and sits on the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list, which it topped in 2023.
It suits travelers who want a serious Thai tasting menu without committing a whole evening to it, because the choice is four or six courses rather than a marathon. The restaurant is on a side street in the Silom area of Bang Rak, the business district, and serves dinner only.
Four or six courses
The kitchen offers a four-course and a six-course tasting menu, and everyone at the table chooses the same length so the service stays in step; groups of more than five take the six courses. Drinks pairings are chosen course by course, and the wine list, put together by the restaurant's certified sommelier, leans toward unusual bottles from around the world.
Ingredients first
Le Du's founding argument is that Thai produce is among the best anywhere and has long been undervalued. It names its suppliers, including Farm Suk, Sunstream Organic Farm in Ratchaburi, Tan Khun Organic Farm and Prosun Farm for free-range duck. The MICHELIN Guide notes seasonal dishes such as khao chae and khao khluk kapi with river prawns in summer, and a ceiling hung with some 20,000 test tubes.
The chef
Chef Ton studied economics at Chulalongkorn University, then trained at the Culinary Institute of America and worked in New York at Eleven Madison Park, The Modern and Jean Georges. He is also a Certified Sommelier. He runs Nusara as well, and Asia's 50 Best gave him its Chefs' Choice Award in 2026.
Before you book
Reservations come with firm terms: dietary needs and special occasions should be flagged at least 72 hours ahead, and changes inside that window are charged. Children older than five are welcome, but there are no children's facilities.
