Level 29: the lounge

The lower floor is the calmer of the two. Set up in a residential style, it doubles as an event space by day for meetings, launches, engagement ceremonies and receptions of up to about 50 people. In the evening it turns into a live music room with a dinner setting and a menu of premium Western dishes, the better choice if you want a proper meal with the view.

Level 30: the rooftop bar

Upstairs, the open-air rooftop is the high-energy end, with classic and creative cocktails, bar bites and a nightly DJ once the live set finishes. This is the floor the hotel pitches for its view of the Bangkok skyline, and the one to head for as the night gets later.

Music every night

Thai singers and their bands play an early-evening set every night, each night with a different act on the hotel's published lineup, and DJs take over later with a rotating roster. The hotel notes that entertainment times can change, so it is worth checking with guest services before planning around a particular performer.

Dress and booking

The bar enforces a smart-casual dress code aimed at footwear, sleeveless tops and sportswear, so leave the gym kit and sandals at the hotel. Reservations are made by phone through the hotel.

At Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit

Market Café is the hotel's all-day restaurant: an international breakfast buffet with fresh breads and a juice station in the morning, then Thai cooking at lunch and dinner. It seats 158, with a small outdoor terrace and a private room for 20.
