Official Event Page

The Bangkok Marathon is the city's long-running night race, started in the dark on Sanam Chai Road beside the Grand Palace so that runners finish before the heat of the day. The organizer's site now lists the race for the night of Saturday, January 9 into Sunday, January 10, 2027.

Race schedule

• 11 pm, Saturday January 9: marathon runners gather in the Sanam Chai Road area.
• 12:30 am, Sunday January 10: full marathon (42.195 km) starts.
• 3 am: half marathon (21.1 km).
• 4:30 am: mini marathon (10 km).
• 5 am: fun run (5 km).
• 7 am: award ceremony; the event closes at 8 am.

A note on the date

Earlier announcements placed this edition in November 2026, and running calendars still show a postponed November date. The organizer's own site gives January 9-10, 2027, and that is the date we list. Check the site again before booking travel around it.

Registration

Entries, fees and race-pack pickup are handled through the organizer's site; the fee table was not shown when we checked. The race is organized with the Thai Runners Association as the contact point.

Good to know

The start area sits between the Grand Palace walls, Wat Pho and Museum Siam, in the Rattanakosin old town. Roads around the old town close overnight, and the MRT does not run through the night, so plan how you will get to a 12:30 am start.
