The best things to do in Asoke, Bangkok are close to one rail interchange: BTS Asok on the Sukhumvit Line meets the MRT Blue Line's Sukhumvit station at the crossing of Sukhumvit Road and Asok Montri Road. From there you can walk into Terminal 21's themed shopping floors, spend a morning on the skywalk at Benjakitti Park, eat at a restaurant that has funded a family-planning charity since 1986, or book a table at two of the city's most talked-about tasting menus. Asoke works best as a base for travelers who want rail access in every direction and a mix of malls, green space and serious dining.
The area is spelled both Asok and Asoke; the BTS uses Asok.
Shop and eat at Terminal 21
Terminal 21, at 88 Sukhumvit Soi 19, is the landmark at the Asok intersection. The mall is designed like an airport, with each floor themed on a world city: the mall lists the Caribbean, Rome, Paris, Tokyo, London, Istanbul, San Francisco and Hollywood. It says it has more than 600 shops and an escalator 36 meters long, and it advertises easy access from both the BTS and the MRT.

Walk the skywalk at Benjakitti Park
Benjakitti Park is a 450-rai forest park on Ratchadaphisek Road, beside the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration describes a 1.6 km skywalk through the planting and ponds that links to the Green Bridge toward Lumphini Park, so you can turn a morning walk into a longer green route across the city. The park opens early, which makes it a good first stop before the heat builds; hours are in the questions below. The BMA points visitors to BTS Asok or the MRT's Sukhumvit and Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre stations.
Kamthieng House and the Siam Society
A few minutes up Asok Montri Road, at 131 Asoke Montri Road (Sukhumvit 21), the Siam Society keeps Kamthieng House Museum: a teak house built in Chiang Mai in the mid-19th century, moved to Bangkok and opened as a museum of Lanna life in 1966. The museum has been temporarily closed for renovation since the end of 2023, and the Siam Society's website still lists it as closed, so check before you go. The Society continues to run lectures and events, listed on its website.
Where to eat around Asoke
- Cabbages & Condoms, on Sukhumvit Soi 12, opened in 1986 to support the Population and Community Development Association's family-planning work and serves a long Thai menu with garden and air-conditioned seating.
- Gaggan, on Sukhumvit Soi 31, is chef Gaggan Anand's progressive Indian tasting menu, served as a kind of theater.
- Sorn, on Sukhumvit Soi 26, cooks the food of Southern Thailand; tables are released a month at a time, so plan ahead.

A simple day in Asoke
- Early morning: walk or run the Benjakitti skywalk while it is cooler, and continue over the Green Bridge if you want to reach Lumphini Park.
- Late morning: head back toward Sukhumvit Road for Terminal 21, browsing a floor or two before lunch in the food court.
- Afternoon: ride one stop east on the BTS to Phrom Phong for the EmQuartier and Emporium malls, or take the MRT toward Silom or Chinatown.
- Evening: dinner at Cabbages & Condoms for a relaxed Thai meal, or a booked tasting menu at Gaggan or Sorn.
Events at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), on Ratchadaphisek Road next to Benjakitti Park, hosts trade fairs, consumer shows and conferences through the year, so it is worth checking its calendar for your dates. From October 12 to 18, 2026 it hosts the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, and the Bank of Thailand lists Friday, October 16, 2026 as an additional special holiday in Bangkok. Hotels and roads around Asok may be busier that week.
Using Asoke as a base
Because the BTS and MRT meet here, Asoke is quick to reach from much of the city: the Sukhumvit Line runs west to Siam and north to Mo Chit for Chatuchak, while the Blue Line reaches Silom, Chinatown and the Old City side of the river. Yes. Both spellings are used for the same area around Sukhumvit Road and Asok Montri Road. The BTS station is spelled Asok, and the MRT station at the same crossing is called Sukhumvit.
