The St. Regis Bangkok review: butlers, a golf-course view and a MICHELIN star by the BTS

The St. Regis Bangkok is the Ratchadamri Road tower for travelers who want a butler, a MICHELIN-starred dinner downstairs and a skybridge to the BTS Skytrain. Its 228 rooms and suites look either over the fairways of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club or across the city's towers, and every stay includes 24-hour butler service. It suits business travelers, couples and food-focused trips centered on the Ratchaprasong and Lumphini area. It is a vertical city hotel, though, so anyone after gardens, the river or a large resort pool will be happier elsewhere.

Location and getting around

The hotel stands at 159 Ratchadamri Road in Lumphini, Pathum Wan, across the road from the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. The practical advantage is a private skybridge to Ratchadamri BTS station, so Siam's malls and the Silom business district are both a short train ride away with no traffic to sit through. Walk north along Ratchadamri Road and you reach the Ratchaprasong intersection, home to the Erawan Shrine and the Gaysorn mall, where Paste serves a historical Thai menu.

The address also puts two strong rivals on the same stretch of road: Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel next door and Waldorf Astoria Bangkok a little further along. All three share the Skytrain station, which makes them easy to compare on facilities alone.

Rooms and suites

Rooms start at 45 square meters, with marble bathrooms, rain showers and separate soaking tubs, and windows facing either the golf course or the skyline. The golf-course side is the one to request: an open stretch of green is rare in central Bangkok, and it gives the lower floors a sense of space that the city side lacks.

Of the 228 keys, 52 are suites. The corner Caroline Astor Suites, 90 to 115 square meters, have floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides, and families or small groups can book a two-bedroom suite or the three-bedroom Owner's Penthouse, which runs to 800 square meters. Butler service comes with every category rather than only the suites, which is the brand's main point of difference from its neighbors.

Dining and bars

Dining is the hotel's strongest suit. The MICHELIN Guide includes The St. Regis Bangkok in its hotel selection without a Key, and its restaurant IGNIV holds one MICHELIN star in the 2026 Thailand guide. The hotel asks for smart casual dress in its restaurants and bars, with casual dress at the Pool Bar.

• IGNIV Bangkok, on the ground floor, is Swiss chef Andreas Caminada's sharing-style restaurant, run locally by head chef Dominik Falk. Dinner arrives as 17 to 19 dishes set in the middle of the table and ends at the Candy Store, and there is a kids' sharing menu, which is unusual for a starred room. The weekday Lunch Break menu is the lower-cost way in. Men should skip shorts and open shoes.
• VIU is the Italian and Mediterranean restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and hosts the Sunday brunch.
• Zuma, also on the ground floor, is the Bangkok branch of the contemporary Japanese izakaya group, with sushi and robata counters and a garden terrace. It runs late on weekends and takes bookings directly.
• The St. Regis Bar pours the Siam Mary, the hotel's Thai version of the Bloody Mary, and shares afternoon tea service with The Drawing Room.
• The Lounge covers coffee, cakes and sandwiches from breakfast into the evening, and the Pool Bar serves smoothies, salads and Asian dishes beside the water, which helps on days when you do not want a formal meal.

Wellness, pool and fitness

The spa is now presented as the Bangkok LIFE Longevity & Biohacking Hub, which mixes diagnostics with conventional massages and facials, a plunge pool, a steam room and separate lounges for men and women. It is appointment-only, so book ahead rather than expecting a walk-in massage. The 15th-floor Exercise Room is glass-walled, free for hotel guests and open around the clock, which suits jet-lagged travelers. The outdoor pool is a city-hotel pool rather than a resort one, with its own casual Pool Bar.

Families, pets and events

There is no kids' club listed, but families have more options than at most tower hotels: children's menus at VIU and by the pool, the IGNIV kids' menu, and two- and three-bedroom suites that keep a family under one door. The official pages read for this review did not state a pet policy, parking or check-in times, so confirm those with the hotel before booking.

For events, the 14th-floor Astor Ballroom has daylight and views over the sports club, and the hotel has seven event rooms for up to 500 guests.

Who it suits, and the alternatives

The St. Regis suits travelers who value service and a serious restaurant over resort space: business visitors, couples on a food-focused trip, and families who can use a multi-bedroom suite. It suits less well anyone who wants a garden pool, a kids' club or a river view.
