What festivals are in Bangkok in February?
Bangkok's February calendar is built around Chinese New Year, Makha Bucha Day and, in 2027, the closing weeks of the Bangkok Art Biennale. Only some 2027 dates had been announced by official sources when we checked on September 26, 2026; the table shows what is confirmed.

Chinese New Year in Chinatown
Chinese New Year is Bangkok's biggest February event when the holiday falls in that month. In 2026, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) lit Yaowarat Road from Odeon Circle to Chaloem Buri intersection from February 7 to March 1, daily from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a main festival program at Siam Paragon. TAT had not announced the 2027 program when we checked. Visit Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, Chinatown's largest Chinese Buddhist temple, early in the day, then return to Yaowarat for the evening food stalls.
Makha Bucha Day
Makha Bucha is a Buddhist holy day, and in 2027 it falls on Sunday, February 21, with the bank holiday on Monday, February 22, according to the Bank of Thailand. Bangkok Art Biennale
TAT says the fifth Bangkok Art Biennale runs in Thailand from October 29, 2026 to February 28, 2027, under the theme Angels and Mara, with works by Thai and international artists across museums, cultural landmarks, religious sites and public venues. February is the last chance to see it.
What else is there to do in Bangkok in February?
February's dry weather makes it the month for outdoor Bangkok. Start early, rest in the hottest part of the afternoon, and go out again at sunset.
- Parks: walk or cycle around the lake at Lumphini Park or Benjakitti Forest Park in the morning.
- Temples: see Wat Pho and the Grand Palace before the midday heat.
- Markets: Chatuchak Weekend Market on a Saturday or Sunday, and Chinatown after dark.

Yes. February falls in Bangkok's peak travel season, which runs through the cool, dry months, and Chinese New Year adds visitors when it falls in February.
