Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel is a grand hotel in the old sense, set in gardens on Ratchadamri Road a minute's walk from the BTS Skytrain. Its 335 rooms and suites were recently renovated, the frescoed lobby and garden pool keep the feel of a 1980s landmark, and the hotel lists a Kids' Club, free parking and a welcome for small dogs and cats. That mix makes it one of the more practical luxury choices in central Bangkok for shoppers, first-time visitors, families and pet owners. The trade-off is that it is a large, busy hotel with many restaurants, rather than a quiet boutique or a destination-dining address.

Location and getting around
The hotel stands at 155 Ratchadamri Road in Lumphini, Pathum Wan, across from the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, on land the hotel describes as former royal property. Exit 4 of Ratchadamri BTS station is a minute's walk away, which puts Siam and the Silom business district a short train ride off. In the other direction, the hotel calls Gaysorn Village, CentralWorld and Siam Paragon a short stroll; the Ratchaprasong intersection is also where you will find the Erawan Shrine and, inside Gaysorn, the historical Thai cooking of Paste.
Two other luxury hotels share this stretch of road: The St. Regis Bangkok next door and Waldorf Astoria Bangkok a few doors along. Both are towers; Anantara is the one with gardens, which is the clearest way to choose between them.
Rooms and suites
Entry-level Deluxe and Siam rooms are 42 square meters, with marble bathrooms, a separate tub and rain shower, and a choice of classic Thai decor with hand-painted murals or a more contemporary look. Siam rooms are on high floors. Views vary by room, over the gardens, the pool, the city or the sports club's golf course, so say which you prefer when you book.
Kasara rooms and all suites add the Kasara Executive Lounge. Suites run from 72 to 168 square meters, and the Garden Pool Suite has its own plunge pool. At the top end, the Two Bedroom Jim Thompson Explorer Suite and the Garden Pool Villa give families or small groups far more space than most city hotels offer.
Dining and bars
Range is the dining story. The hotel runs more than half a dozen venues, each with its own booking line, and none of them is currently in the MICHELIN Guide restaurant selection, though the hotel itself is in the guide's Bangkok hotel selection without a Key.
- The Lobby is the all-day room under the frescoed ceiling and the hotel's afternoon tea venue, with Mariage Frères teas. It also hosts the Grand Siam Sunday Brunch.
- Madison Steak Avenue is the New York-style steakhouse, reopened with cuts including Snake River Farms beef.
- Biscotti (Italian), Shintaro (Japanese) and Spice Market (Thai) cover the other main cuisines, so a family can eat in several nights running.
- Aqua is the garden bar, open past midnight and one of the hotel's designated smoking areas, and The Garden Terrace serves drinks and light meals by the pool.
- Manohra Cruises, Anantara's dinner cruise, sails on a restored antique rice barge on the Chao Phraya with a Thai set menu in two sittings, and Spice Spoons is the hotel's Thai cooking class with a market visit.

Pool, spa and fitness
The pool is set in tropical gardens, which is the hotel's main advantage over the towers around it. Anantara Spa's signature Soul of Siam massage draws on traditions from Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and China, and the spa also offers Himalayan salt-stone therapy and an IV drip bar. The Technogym-equipped Health Club has a squash court, a yoga studio, and separate steam rooms and whirlpools for men and women, with private Muay Thai, Pilates and Hyrox sessions on request.
Meetings, events and extras
The Grand Ballroom, the flexible meeting rooms and 17 breakout rooms were all renovated in 2026, and suite guests can use the Kasara Executive Lounge for business stays. For private occasions, the hotel arranges floating breakfasts and Dining by Design dinners with three days' notice, and in-room dining runs around the clock. It also sells a resort-wear collection made with Jim Thompson, the Thai silk house.
Families, pets and accessibility
Families get a Kids' Club, babysitting with 24 hours' notice, a children's boxing class and the garden pool, plus multi-bedroom suites. Pet owners are the other group well served here: cats and dogs up to 10 kg are welcome, one per room, a real point of difference on this road, since the Waldorf Astoria a few doors away admits only service animals. Read the hotel's pet policy before booking. Parking is free, and there are EV charging stations.
