Bangkok has 39 MICHELIN-starred restaurants in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Thailand: two with three stars (Sorn and Sühring), eight with two stars and 29 with one star. The most famous is Jay Fai, a one-star street-food kitchen on Maha Chai Road known for its crab omelette. The guide also awards the Bib Gourmand for good-value cooking, to places such as Krua Apsorn and K. Panich.

This list of Michelin star restaurants in Bangkok comes from the guide's own website, checked on September 26, 2026. The 2026 edition, the ninth MICHELIN Guide Thailand, was announced on November 27, 2025.

Which Bangkok restaurants have three MICHELIN stars?

Two: Sorn and Sühring. Sorn, on Sukhumvit Soi 26, cooks Southern Thai food and is described by the MICHELIN Guide as the world's first three-star Thai restaurant. Sühring, run by twin chefs Thomas and Mathias Sühring in Yan Nawa, serves a modern German tasting menu and was promoted from two to three stars in the 2026 edition.

Sorn's chef-owner, Supaksorn 'Ice' Jongsiri, built the menu after travelling through all 14 southern provinces. Sühring first entered the guide with one star in the inaugural 2018 edition and held two stars for seven years before its promotion, according to the MICHELIN Guide.

Jay Fai: Bangkok's street-food MICHELIN star

Jay Fai is a shophouse kitchen at 327 Maha Chai Road in the Old City that holds one MICHELIN star, listed by the guide under street food and Thai cuisine. The cook, Supinya Junsuta, known as Jay Fai, works the woks in her trademark goggles. The MICHELIN Guide calls her crispy, golden-brown crab omelette the dish to try.

The guide also recommends the stir-fried prawns in yellow curry and the noodle dishes. It warns that you will spend time standing in line and should bring cash; Jay Fai's own Instagram describes it as walk-in only. It is closed Sunday to Tuesday, so plan it into a Wednesday to Saturday in the Old City, alongside the pad thai at Thipsamai on the same road.

What are the best Bib Gourmand restaurants in Bangkok?

The Bib Gourmand marks restaurants the MICHELIN Guide rates for good cooking at moderate prices. Notable Bangkok Bib Gourmands in 2026 include Krua Apsorn for home-style Thai food, K. Panich for mango sticky rice, Thai Tham for offal dishes and Urai Braised Goose in Chinatown. Most are family businesses built around a few dishes.

  • Krua Apsorn on Samsen Road, in Dusit, is a family-run kitchen whose stir-fried pork with bird's-eye chili and yellow curry the guide recommends.
  • K. Panich on Tanao Road has made mango sticky rice to the same family recipe for 80 years, according to the guide.
  • Thai Tham on Phraeng Phuthon Road has been handed down for more than a century and specializes in offal, including stewed pig's brain.
  • Urai Braised Goose on Song Wat Road has braised goose with aromatic spices for six decades.

Other Bangkok Bib Gourmands include Bunloet, Somsak Pu Ob, Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu and Kolun.h. Our Bangkok street food guide puts several of them on a map by neighborhood.
